Rosemary Cooper

Sports Therapist

Rosemary Cooper graduated from Farnborough Technical College in 1997 having qualified in an HND Science & Management of Health & Fitness. Rose first set out as an Fitness Instructor, also teaching aerobics, spinning, circuits, personal training within Spectrum Leisure Centre, Guildford whilst offering Sports Therapy at the Health & Fitness Suite. Rose then managed The Activzone gym at Guildford College 1998, keeping a balance with teaching the classes mentioned above, and finally set-up Optimum Fitness, Unisport, University of Surrey in 1999.

Optimum Fitness has been established 11 years now offering Chiropractic, Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy. Rose recognises that the three types of treatment available all complement each other; Clients with an injury are often cross-referred within the Clinic and reach the maximum results, care and help.

In 2007 Rose and her Partner Simon Horton, set up Optimum Health in Fleet, which offers a wider range of treatments all under one roof: Sports Injury Clinic, Podiatry, Nutritional Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Holistic treatments, Life coaching, NLP and Hypnotherapy. Optimum Health also offers a Fitness Studio where core stability and rehabilitation classes are very popular, we only have a maximum of 7 people, so you really do get personal tuition.

Over the past year Rose has completed ‘Intensive 5 day course in the Dysfunction of the Sacro-Illiac Joint’ by Osteopath John Gibbons, Oxford University,’ Core Stability and Gym Ball’ and an ‘Ultra Sound’ refresher by Physique Management…

Rose is passionate about Sports Injuries and Sports Therapy! Being a keen runner, Rose can really empathise with fellow runners or sports people who are injured, and trys her hardest at offering alternative physical activities to get them back on track!

‘It is so satisfying to help Clients recover from injury, albeit a Sports Injury or DIY accident.’ ‘Making a difference to people’s health is priceless’ ‘I wouldn’t want to do anything else’.

Running is one of Rose’s favourite hobbies, and completed the Flora London Marathon in 2006. Rose will be involved in the ‘Run-Fit’ classes in our Fleet Clinic/ Studio, and hopes to start up a ‘Social Running Club’ later this year – if you are interested please drop us a line…
