Carissa Henderson
Chiropractor
Carissa graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, Bournemouth in 2004 with a Masters in Chiropractic following five years full time study. She has been a part of the Optimum Health and Fitness team since early 2007 and enjoys being part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely together to cater for every aspect of a client’s treatment needs. Originally from South Africa, she’s a fan of the great outdoors and has a keen interest in sport, including having played competitive tennis and coached children ball skills.
Carissa enjoys treating patients of all ages, infants to adults, from all walks of life. She encourages patients to take an active role in their health and recovery, by taking a holistic approach during assessments. This means discussing their lifestyle choices and getting clients to positively participate in their recovery.
Carissa remains current by attending various post-graduate courses, some of these include dry needling (a western style of acupuncture), paediatrics and pregnancy, spinal rehabilitation and techniques for extremity joint treatment. This is all part of continuing professional development which is a requirement of the General Chiropractic Council and all of which are incorporated into her daily practice.
Carissa is a registered Chiropractor being a full member of the British Chiropractic Association and is fully registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
Treatment is covered by most Private Health Insurance Companies, including AXA/PPP and BUPA.
